Taste of Westmont this weekend

Taste of Westmont is this weekend and Cass Ave will be closed Thursday-Sunday. We will be running sound at the Irving stage. Hours are as normal tomorrow. Stop by and see us at the Irving stage!

On Saturday there will be a Uncle Jon’s Music Showcase concert at the Irving Stage at 3:00. Come hear performances by UJM instructors, staff, and students!

Uncle Jon’s Music is giving away a $100 gift certificate to the grand prize winner of our video contest! It’s easy and fun to enter. 2nd prize (UJM staff favorite) is a ukulele package!

Here’s what to do:
Make a video promoting Uncle Jon’s Music and Hot Dog Party 2KX. The video should be about 60 seconds in length.

Be Creative! Have fun. Here are some ideas:
What do you love about Uncle Jon’s Music?
You or a group performing on instrument(s) purchased at UJM.
Write a song and make a music video.
A funny local commercial.
Make a stop-time animation video.
Make a music video parody.
Feel free to come to Uncle Jon’s Music to get some footage!

Put Uncle Jon’s Music in the tags and/or title. Tell your friends to watch it. The video with the most views by May 15, 2010 will win a $100 gift certificate, winner will be announced at our Hot Dog Party on May 15, 2010. Second prize of a Ukulele package (uke, bag, and book) goes to the UJM staff favorite video.
Please ensure that no hot dogs are harmed in the making of your video. Anybody can enter!

Christmas is almost here! We will be closed Christmas day but will be open 12-4 on Christmas eve.

We will be closed New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

No Lessons Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.

Restring for food results

We held our first restring for food event on Saturday November 14, 2009. Customers who donated at least one non-perishable food item received a free guitar restring. Guitars were cleaned, fretboards conditioned, restrung and tuned. Thank you to the Curt Mangan string company for providing the strings. Food is being donated to the Holy Trinity food pantry. We restrung 50 guitars and collected 227 pounds of food.
